SPOILER::: What do you think on this short plot for the 3rd game?
Hi all

I just had an idea on a new game's story, wrote it down in a simmilar topic as a comment, but I belive it deserves a seperate discussion for itself.

So here it goes:

So, it's 2150 AD The organisation known in 14th century as The Order, has grown to become a world's most powerfull pharmaceutical corporation, backed by multiple gouvernments accross the globe, and having their own military branch (similar to Abstergo/Templar in AC, or Umbrella Corporation in RE). They are managed by people that you can consider above law, so they can do whatever the heck they want.
Their primary mission is still, however, to study The Macula, so they track and closelly observe the blodline of De Rune Family, from Amicia onward, you can say, that their agents spy on them to learn about The Macula, whether or not it would surface in any of them.

And so it did, A child was born that has distinct markings, indicating presence of The Macula.
The Order took the child away, into one of their own labs, so they can study him, but his dad used to work for the Order as a scientist, before the child was born, he resigned afterwards, becouse he needed to protect his familly against the organisation that he worked for. He manages to hire a group of mercenaries and infiltrate The Order's lab, finding his son, and rescuing him.
They made sure The Order can no longer track them, and than they dissaapeared from the grid.

fast forward 7 yrs, during which He teaches the boy how to controll his powers, so that they can't controll him, using the knowledge and books from anciant libraries of The Order, in which there is also records from Amicia De Rune, a formal protector, and SANGUINIS ITINERA, the book that contains the recepy for the elixir, which can slow down the Macula's progress, although, he manages to modify the elixir to extend it's effects for much longer.
However The Order does aventually tracks them down, and in ground assault the boys mother is killed, father and son, manage to escape, and are now hunted by the Order's military forces, as they try to survive, in devastated world coused by new outbrake and find ways on how to prevent the treshold.

What do you think?

I think the beauty of the game was its simplicity and the medieval era. can't stand the idea of using guns or futuristic weapons against rats and stuff sounds dull and stupid. they really should have remained with the old times IMO since they clearly want the game to have a sequel by teasing that the plague is back.... modern era just sound stupid, does not suit the story, soundtrack, gameplay etc...

This modern era is not worth , hope they scrap that and end on high note in medieval era and plague be cured once and for all .

I agree with all of you, A Plague Tale is medieval time, and it should remain medieval.

this was an idea about the game set in future (following a 800 year cycle, the first was Basilius (540 AD), 2nd was Hugo (1350 AD), the third may be someone in 2150 AD, what we see in the end anyway.

Personally I would much rather want the franchise to remain in this timeline, as the whole rat infestation makes sense then, rat infestation in future, quite unlikelly to happen.

I can't imagine a plague tale game that doesn't take place in the middle ages and without Amicia. And if that happens, I will be very disappointed. By the way, the third game will most likely be made for sure. Because the developer continues to post job postings for Plague Tale, and in the posting description it says, 'You will join the team behind the A Plague Tale license to work on an unannounced project.' I'm very excited for the new game and I hope it doesn't take place in the modern era and Amicia will be the main character again.

TBH part of me hopes for that too.

"Plague Team" doesn't mean new Plague Tale game. It can be something other with same mechanics... but we will keep fingers crossed for next APT game.

I think it means a new a plague tale game. Because it says in the job posting that it is preferable to have played A Plague Tale games. Even if they make another game with the same mechanics, I don't think there is any need to give priority to people who have played Plague Tale.
