3rd game, modern setting or Amicia Part 3?
In the epilogue Amicia says she wants to find and help the next carrier and protecter to make sure it's done right this time.

But post credit scene teases a modern setting with the sound of high heels in what seems to be a hospital.

What would you prefer? Personally I want BOTH! But... I think they should give Amicia a break and continue her journey later. The next game being set in modern times sounds epic.

Amicia part 3. I hope post ending scene was just a joke.

Would rather them do something else, requiem didn't really improve much in the gameplay visual better yet runs worse. Story wise it would just end up a mess given how alot of stuff from innocence was ignored.

If they don't do a third game or spin-off I hope the devs stick to action-adventure because they have a lot of talent and the growth between both games show they can make something that rivals AAA games.

If there is a third game, I hope it will be Amicia because she is the main protagonist of the Plague tale series. Without Amicia, the Plague Tale series loses its meaning. If there is going to be a Plague Tale that will take place in the modern era, I would prefer them not to do it.

Maybe adventure, based on the gameplay of both combat is the weakest element they are better with visuals more then anything.

She was the lead but she was attached to Hugo. Most of that growth was threw him and other side characters. Other then her sling skills she’s okay at best.

Part 3 is Dead Space.
The Macula is a virus from an alien race.
The Baby in the post credit szene was born on the USG Ishimura.

I feel that Hugo and Amicia deserve one more adventure (even if it's a prequel that happens between Innocence and Requiem.) I refuse to accept Requiems ending as canon. I'd love to see a slightly older Hugo grow tired of Amicia's over-protective attitude and run away starting one last adventure. Also they can narrow the scope of the game down some by introducing new gameplay mechanics... say the player (Hugo) being able to control and "individual" rat. That rat can help Hugo get out of tight spots as you sneak around people, steal keys, etc.

Asobo is missing out on a good opportunity by ending Hugo's journey too abruptly. Yes it's emotional but I don't think it was a deserved ending. It's as if the devs were growing tired of the franchise and decided to end things quickly in order to pursue other projects.

A prequel or sequel based on Hugo wont work. He would be too young in the prequel, and too dead in the sequel. It would be a really far fetched and worse story trying to get that to work.

If there is another one, as the OP said. It will probably take place in a modern setting. But I dont think this will ever happen. Didnt Asobo say they were already working on something new and said that they are done with plague tale? Im sure I read about that somewhere on one of their interviews.

I personally think a third game is coming. The developer of the game said in an interview that `they are a little bored with rats, but if Requiem is liked and sells well, we can consider making a third game.` So they didn't say they were working on a new project and finished with plague tale. I also think that if there is a new game, it will be Amicia. Because the developer said `Amicia` has one more task to do.` Amica is a very good main character, I don't think they will give up on her easily. They can use her in another game and make her one of the best female characters in the history of the game.

Sales for Requiem are def better out of the gate. At 1+ million in about a month compared to 1+million in about a year for innocence. So in that sense it has def performed better. So if they see that as well liked with better sales a sequel is possible.

I feel though having it with Amicia as the main protagonist wouldnt work. Her job is done. She served her purpose. Even if she didnt set out to accomplish her original goal. She still set out to set the foundation to warn others.

With a new host teased at the end and set far in the future. We will obviously see a new protector. Only way I feel Amicia's character being shown is in flashbacks. Which may or may not be playable.

If they do make a sequel they def need to change the gameplay a lot more. It was too linear and same thing over and over between chapters. Doing that for a 3rd game in a row will be boring. Hopefully they work on that as well.

I honestly don't know where else they can even go, considering stuff that was just left to dry after the first game. Not to mention combat (if they insist on having it) needs some series work.

They said that A Plague Tail would have a part three depending on how big the last two games got i believe they decided to put it on the back burner for now tho.

kinda sad as it is a GREAT game series with so much potential in 3.

The third game can probably tell the tale of Aelia and Basillius...that, I think, too has potential.

I actually do look forward and prefer the modern days new story more. Look, the important story of Amicia is actually already ended when her brother died, and we all know after that Amicia will spend the rest of her life to stop every round of plague. It's time for us to look forward, and see what will the modern days plague tale will goes, and how the modern "protector" will save the modern "plague host".
