But you got that the Macula appears only every few hundred years, so it is unlikely she'll ever find another carrier.
I think you're referring to the death rather than the epilogue.
Probably most players agree with you, so it's okay not to be okay about it!
What burns the most is that Amicia has numerous speeches throughout the game about promising him he'll be okay and they'll find a way. She forces him down this path that he didn't need to be forced down of (and he reminded her he didn't want to also) - But no, Amicia knew best - And everything she didn't want to happen, did in the end!
Shoulda listened to the kid... He was the only one right in the end!
I say resurrect him in a DLC or sequel. Make it a trilogy!!!
Every mature player knows, life just doesn't always go the route of an happy ending. So it's totally fine to have such an ending.
Amicia acted, she thought she's doing the best - yet she failed, which is not always her fault. Also take into account that Amicia is only 15 years old. Literally a child, knowing nothing about life despite her sheltered time at home until the first part took place.
PS: IMHO more games should have the courage to go the way of a rather bad ending. I''m sick of that ideal world bollocks what you meet with most Hollywood movies and games these days.
