I think it should be more balanced (at least 50% fan votes for consideration)
GoW has been around for quite some time. In 2018 it sold over 5 million copies in its first week. Which is more than Innocence and Requiem sales combined.
No need to mention Elden Ring as we all know that dominated charts. So being that both those titles that Requiem lost to are way more popular and favored to win. It made sense that they lost.
I just started playing Requiem and so far it seems like it begins right where it left off. Nothing really new or anything that stands out more from the original. But again, I only played for a little bit. Hopefully it picks up.
I will say this though. Awards dont mean anything really. RE Village won GOTY last year for Steam and that game was bad and worst game in the whole RE franchise. The games it went up against sold way more too. With way more overwhelmingly positive reviews. So yea. Awards really dont mean anything.
Maybe Requiem will win something for the steam awards next month like Innocence did before.
I'm totally surprised Requiem didnt win any award at all.
You are right, I misunderstood the difference between "narration" & "narrative".
It's just I prefer Requiem more as their character dialogue sound natural for people lived in medieval age. Ragnarök is way too "Americanized" again, but it's understandable for a fantasy game I guess.
Not counting the hype, Elden Ring really deserves the GOTY title.
I am not a fan of it btw. But, if you look at all the nominations for the title, Elden Ring is the least linear game, it allows player to do whatever & however the ♥♥♥♥ we want,
Freedom to the players.
Eh, typical souls like game. ER is objectively a DLC with recycled assets and grinding. Dont see that appealing at all.
Plague Tale on the other hand had everything, gameplay, story, music, characters and whats more important emotions.
But if its hard for people to understand, then I wont be explaining any further.
