Hugo's condition
Having some medical background here's my theory: it looks to be a combination of cluster headache/migraine with aura, maybe some kind of absence epilepsy as well. The vein stuff with the black takeover - that's artistic license :)

That was the most useless input ever.

It's a fantasy disease. It doesn't have any real world equivalent, so trying to diagnose it is pointless. And I have yet to see Hugo suffer any petit mal seizures at all.
