Thoughts on protagonist that talks too much?
I don't mind it sometimes but in this game it's just relentless. The game's good but I hate when protagonists never stop talking to themselves or are pointing out obvious things to help the players all the time.

Horizon had the same issue and yes, it's annoying.

Same, I thought painting objects in bright yellow for the player to interact with was enough but apparently that wasn't the case lol

I'm the exact type of braindead gremlin they were aiming for with that so I can't complain

The biggest problem with too much dialogue is that, to catch everything, you basically have to stop every time someone starts talking. If you keep moving, and doing stuff, the game is not smart enough to either pause and continue the conversation, or restart the conversation.
Hence, missed dialogue.

Though, to be perfectly fair, a lot of games have this same issue. It always pisses me off when a conversation suddenly cuts off.

It would be depressing if the protagonist doesn't talk much.

And it's not only that, but the amount of screaming is just disgusting. All of them loses their sh*t from almost everything that happens to them. Some of the scenes were so cringe-inducing that I had to mute the game. First game was at least believable, but here?
"I see a rat!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"I see a soldier!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Our objective is too far away!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Mommy isn't holding my hands for 5 seconds!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"I have completely forgotten what happened in the first game and now I am behaving like a neurotic junkie!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"THE TREES ARE MOVING!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

I seriously hope there will be a mod that will shut their mouth. smh

No the protagonist doesn't talk enough. Game needs 16x the dialogue for it to be better. Every game never has enough dialogue.

More dialogue! NO. MORE. SILENCE. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Nah you cracked brah. This is a very linear story game, and a high amount of dialogue is needed. One could argue too much in some scenes, but it isn't like you are gonna be listening to it for 500 hours.

Meaningful dialogue is needed. Listening to emotional meltdown every time as much as a leaf moves is anything but. Like, I'm not f*cking blind, I can see there are rats, no need to announce it in high-picthed panic voice every f*cking time they appear.

At least the voice acting was good, that's just the way they were written.

You sure you didn't mean needs 16x the detail?

I don't use subtitles either, what's your point?

Last time I checked, subtitles do not scream...

not here to argue, i'm just saying that i (and most likely many people) didn't have this issue like your, that's all lol

And what have subtitles to do with how much their talk?
Resca Oct 22, 2022 @ 1:35pm
The only time it annoyed me a bit was when I had to light the way with Sophia's help, since Amicia calls her for help every time and Sophia then answers. If you hear that every few seconds it can be annoying. Or if you sneak through the area and Amicia whispers something every few steps. Sometimes I thought "just shut up". Otherwise the amount of talk was ok for me.
