Is it just me or is this achievement bugged? I tried 3 times and it still doesn't pop up

Make sure you stay behind the log on the riverbank, if go past that point (too close to Hugo), it won't give you the achievement.

Yeah, it seems to be bugged. Also, a video cut scene triggers a bit too early when I try to shoot the last pinecone, tried it 3 times in a row (even on a new game slot with Explorer Mode on) without any success, this is very frustrating!

It is a bug. The developers hadn't accounted for people playing this in NG+ with an upgraded sling.

So I've spent a bit of time on this and I can tell you exactly what the problem is and the fix in various situations.

1. NG+ ... Many of you will be seeking to get this achievement after you completed the game the first time round... ie. In NG+ ... I had great difficulty trying to get this achievement unlocked, even though I had clearly sunk all the pine cones.
I discovered that the bug is because this achievement is designed with the sling shot in its primary state, not upgraded (upgraded you get a double shot) - The issue/bug is that when you hit a cone with your 2nd rapid-fire shot, that cone will not be registered by the game.
The fix in NG+ is that you need to hit each cone with the first sling shot each time. Then you must briefly pause and not allow your 2nd shot to hit the next cone.

It is possible in NG+, because I've done it. You simply need to only hit the cones with the first shot of the sling, then release mouse button, and hit the next one with the first shot too.

There are 7 cones to be sunk before the boy arrives. Then a further 15 while the boy is there.

The first 7 are easy, it becomes a bit more manic with the 2nd round. Especially because you need to hit them all *before* the cut scene starts... This is the 2nd problem.

2. To sink all the required cones before the cut scene kicks in, you need to be fast. Even in the English language version, you need to hit 15 cones after the boy arrives and do it with your first sling shot (if in NG+). So letting them sail down the river is not an option. It's just speed...

Or else it's back to playing hide and seek with Lucas again... and again... and again !!!
