Frame generation introduces screen tearing
Hello guys! I recently bought my 4090 and when I turn on the frame generation option in the game it starts the famous screen tearing. The strange thing is that in windowed mode the problem does not happen, only in Full Screen. Someone with the same problem?

To avoid screen tearing you have to make sure that GSync is used, too, and that the monitor's max framerate isn't lower than the framerate you achieve with frame generation.

It's a known problem with DLSS 3 (frame generation). If your monitor can't achieve so high framerates, it might be better not to enable that option.

I use an Oled LG 55 C9 with gsync enabled.

Something is wrong with your setup. I have LG C1 with GSYNC, I'm using frame generation in full screen mode and I have 0 tearing.

Do you have VSync set to ON globally in NVidia control panel ? There are multiple discussions why you should do this, but the simple answer is to have VSync On when you exceed the GSync range of your monitor.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I've limited the max. FPS in NVidia control panel but it shouldn't matter if VSync is On.

It's a current limitation of DLSS3, it only officially works with vsync off, so if your refresh rate is over your display Hz, it will start to tear. You can force vsync on in nvidia control panel, but from what I've seen it works fine, except you get double the latency at maximum fps.

Do you use frame cap to 115fps? (because this TVs usually are 120hz)

I have frame cap 117 in NV control panel.

Just cap your FR to lower than the max. That should work as long as gsync or freesync works w/ DLSS3.

Capping the FR is not possible or even useful with DLSS 3. You'll just cap the "real" frames, not the interpolated frames.

Who told you this, do you have 4090 ?
I use frame generation and my FPS is capped for sure, probably by VSync enabled globally in NVCpl. It never exceeds max. display refresh rate.
Same thing in Spiderman, I use frame generation and FPS never exceeds 119 FPS (my display is GSync TV, GSync range 40-120 HZ).

I don't know what exactly people do wrong but I haven't seen screen tearing for ages, with or without GSync display.

But check this out: I need to set the frame cap to 55 in the Nvidia control panel and the game stays at 110 with Frame Gen activated. For me make sense... because the others 55 was "interpolated" by DLSS 3.

Enable VSync globally, turn Off in game.
There are tons of discussions why you should have VSync ON when using GSync display.

C1 Gsync is compatible, which means if your rig cannot handle more than 50 FPS, it wont work.

I decided to stop using frame generation. In a few areas I had some micro-stutter when rotating the camera. I read somewhere that NVidia Reflex is causing such issues in this game. Frame generation forces Reflex and I had to disable it before disabling Reflex. With Reflex Off I don't see any micro stutter; FPS may be lower but I feel the camera smoother.

I have never had any issues with Reflex, this is the first game I'm seeing this.

EDIT: After more testing I found it's pretty much the same with Reflex On/Off, so back to frame generation. The game definitely looks great but it has some optimization issues.

Yes, I do.

With the current driver, VSync didn't work in DLSS 3 as soon as the framerate was higher than the monitor's max frequency. Then you got stutter and tearing with DLSS3.

Only the new driver, that was released today, this was fixed. It's even mentioned in the release notes.
