This is a really depressing game
This is one of the most depressing game series I've ever played. Constantly surrounded by grisly death on all sides, and the main character never stops whining about killing people. And it's a totally straight line, just go through and hit the buttons. Your game is going to be exactly like everyone else who plays the game. It's more of a long directed cut scene than a game. You are never allowed to stop the character from making stupid decisions.
And this one took the terrible user interface from the first one and made it worse. It's very clunky to change between weapon settings.

Depression can be bad but also can be good. Straight line because it's telling... a tale, it fits perfectly with the theme. Yes, not so convenient UI.

It pretty much does the Last of Us thing where it is more movie with not-so great Gameplay (arguably) but I agree that the UI didn't feel good, I was constantly switching between alchemistc "spells" and weapons.

Also the story leads you down a depressing route and ends in total depression. Nothing good ever happens except for very brief moments and that is a bit too much and you kind of wonder what was the point of it all?

In comparison with Last of Us it would be like the virus was leading you all the time, it Invented the Fireflies and Joel has to kill Ellie at the end. That's this game and no one would have been happy with such an ending...

I agree. I actually think FF 13-3 Lightning Returns was better than this. For a similar setting, Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba is a million times better. I played on XGP so I'm glad I only wasted about 3-4 days.

I love linear games. They are so rare these days.

I love this game, but it is depressing. I think a big part of that is you are essentially playing as the villains, bring plague and suffering wherever you go.

This is without any doubt the most depressing and frustrating game I have ever played. I'm the big battle by the boat, and it's flat ridiculous. You need resources that magically stop showing up when you need them. You have fog so thick you can't see, but these enemies never lose track of you, and they walk as fast as you run. And whoever wrote this interface needs to check out the Hotkeys to bring up Steam's stupid interface and DON'T USE THOSE KEYS. This is such a clunky interface, I am fighting IT rather than the enemies. If they stopped time while you had the menu up, their damn clunkiness wouldn't matter so much. But you only have a few seconds to select what you need. And the needs are so SPECIFIC for each enemy. If I hadn't spent so much on it, I'd walk away right now.

The foggy bit is the last fight of the game and by far the hardest. I ended up turning it down to easy just for this.

Somehow I found the battle before leaving the island (forgot at what point exactly) more frustrating than the beach battle but I got frustrated at a lot of points, also because I wanted to level up stealth and tried to sneak through before giving up on that and just murdering everyone.

So I agree with your statement. I also thought they should have paused the game when bringing up the menu since you have to switch weapons all the time.

OK, finished it.
What a pain.
You always run out of the resources you need.
Pots. Crossbow bolts.
The only reason I completed it was because I shot my last ignifier crossbow bolt at the last stack, and another crossbow bolt immediately appeared right in front of my nose so I could do the kill shot. Otherwise, I literally had NOTHING with which to take out the last armored foe. I had been running around for 15 minutes with one crossbow bolt, waiting for another to respawn, trying to figure out how I was supposed to deal with the last foe since it takes two - one ignifier to distract his shield, and the kill shot. I already had his armor off him but he still had his shield.
And overall, this game should seriously come with a mental health warning. This is such a staggeringly depressing storyline. And it's presented in an environment of unrelenting grisly death, filth and disease, signified by loss. And I won't spoil the end, but it's not pretty for anyone. Literally no redeeming values. What were they thinking? I don't care where they go with it from here, I am not going with them.

100% agree with u, except that I will probably be curious to know where this is going to go , but I think I will wait for reviews and comments instead of throwing myself into it. I'm not going to hurt like this again. especially because of the very last bit... they could have spared us that...

Very depressing game with a bad ending. Technical very poor optimized, or even not optimized at all at the moment. A total disappointment
