[Spoilers] Deaths?
Ok so, maybe I missed something major, but what exactly was the reason behind the deaths? I get that Faye destroyed the servers, but why did the demo have to be stopped? Is this still something that is going to be solved in another game?

Faye was trying to preserve that reality stack, without having to delete them. Which means that she wouldn't want anyone to realize she's manipulating the top of the stack, so that they wouldn't find her. So if the observer of the sim was in the room where the demo happened, she'd destroy the the core control room. If the observer was in the core control room, she'd stop the demo.

However, this time, she was left with no choice and had to reveal herself to stop the simulation, cause both sites were being observed. So she revealed herself, and that pretty much spelt the end of that reality stack.

Yeah, that is also that I think.

In simpler words:
The demo was the thing creating new worlds, Faye was doing stuffs to stop the demo from playing. Either killing the hosts before the demo, or destroing the computer if they were never left alone.

the demo had to be stopped cause the resources at the bottom reality that made the layers of simulations was at its limit. so if like even one more layer was made, it would be overcapacity and the pc at the bottom would crash or something like that lol. then every layer of simulation is gone, so Faye has to stop that from happening and ideally kill the professors that made the machine possible at the top
