Mac -- mouse/cursor not working?
Hi. When I load the game and get to the title screen there is no mouse/cursor or way to interact with any of the options (NEW GAME, etc). Playing on a Mac. Any info appreciated.

1) Right click The Excavation of Hobs Barrow,
2) Properties
3) Betas
4) typing in that text input box "testformactest" WITHOUT QUOTES, hitting check code
5) Hitting the blue button that will appear (i believe it will write "Opt into mactest")
6) The game will begin downloading files and once that's done, you'll have the same but hopefully the issue will be resolved!

If you've already opted the game will update, and hopefully that will work, if it does, I'll push the change to the main branch!

AGS 3.6.0.35 is 1) currently in development, which means it's not stable, 2) this is wildly untested.

If you have a wired mouse, it's better to connect that to play the game on OSX, if not, do follow the steps, the game will run, I'm not quite sure at what capacity and what issues will be there, but I'm here to help out and see what we can fix.

If you run the game by locating the app [right click browse local files] and then going to TEOHB.APP/Contents/MacOS/ and running AGS (double-clicking), you'll get a terminal (you can close the game by using Alt-X, if you can paste that terminal's contents here that'd be really helpful!
Works ok for me, Intel Mac Mini 2018 and macOS Monterey.
I am running Monterey 12.6 on a 2019 iMac

So for some reason it fails to initialize your mouse entirely. This is weird, calling the higher powers that be!
I think I got the same problem, the game works yesterday, I even get through the first day in game. but today when I launch the game, the mouse stuck on the top left conner and can't move, I saw other post on the discussions, people said maybe is about the game resolutions, but I don't know how to change that on Mac (I try the steam launch option but it didn't work) I really want to continue the rest of the story :(

thank you so much for the reply, unfortunately it still not working. I try to change the window resolution too. but the mouse still not work :(
for some reason the game can't Initializing the mouse.

I including the terminal log for yr reference too see if it helps or not.

Hi, I tried it too with no success. I think I see the mouse stuck in top top left corner, but it does not move at all.

Apologies for this ordeal, I want you to be able to actually play the game, this seems to be an engine bug, I'm working on resolving it. Do either of you own any other WEG game? (Except Primordia and Strangeland) if so, can u check if the other games work (they use a newer version of the engine)

If you don't,

Locate the app, by browsing local files:
Inside the app go to: Contents\MacOS

Rename AGS to AGS2 and then download http://primordia-game.com/Files0/AGS.zip and extract it there, it should contain just AGS (the one u extracted from the zip) and AGS2 (the previous AGS file u just renamed), then try running the game as you do normally

sadly I dont own another WEG's games so i cant test with it.

and sorry to say the file I extracted became a document file. the original AGS file type is a unix executable file. so I cant launch the game by using the new file.

(update)
I find a way on the other website to use the "chmod +x" on terminal to turn the new AGS to a unix executable file. but this happen.

1) Right click The Excavation of Hobs Barrow,
2) Properties
3) Betas
4) typing in that text input box "testformactest" WITHOUT QUOTES, hitting check code
5) Hitting the blue button that will appear (i believe it will write "Opt into mactest")
6) The game will begin downloading files and once that's done, you'll have the same but hopefully the issue will be resolved!

Maybe I missed the context for this, but Macs are all different resolutions, whether built-in display or external. Also they aren't all 16:9, especially laptops, some are 16:10, and I think even 14:9. Not sure if I missed the point or this is helpful.

I don't normally play games on a Mac but I think they are supposed to run at the native resolution. I think the user can set them individually to run at 1/4 resolution from the OS on a Retina display.

I'm not sure the resolution is the issue here, but with that acsetup.cfg, you can change the

screen_height=900
screen_width=1600

in it, to whatever your native resolution is.
Again big apologies, from our in-house testing there were no issues with the mac port, but we'll get this working, I appreciate everyone's patience with us!
