Who else noticed that when you...
WGT golf lets you play and learn and improve to a certain point. When you start to get good but you dont pay anything for upgrades, it will begin to punish you. The better your skills, the harder the game with fck up your perfect shots. it sucks. im done.

If you do good, there is no incentive to pay.
but as so many others they fail to understand that a bad experience
is even worse for business that being given no incentive.

It s the contrary, bad experience makes you keep your money, spend less
but they are happy with that, some big brain or AI concluded there is more to
be earned out of frustration, than out of satisfaction,

and we can understand that, but since there is no way to progress without
paying, it is stupid to go that way.

perhaps in a few years, business is going to rely on more ethic and meaningful practices ?
now we see mmos games are going for 10,15,25,50 ? years

And fast quick mmo cash grab doesn't work anymore ...

Maybe they will reconsider opportunistic milking out of whales
as standard procedure ?

And companies (and names) are known, and remembered, this kind of strategy
can only get you so far.
So there is hope.

I guess I have to agree and disagree, to the extent that it is a pay to play, while being free to play.

As you play, your skills go up, the levels take more points to get. The "starter" equipment is free. I have seen quite a few level 90 plus people using starter balls, and starter equipment. If they went all the way up to 90 with starter, gratz to them and yes, I bet they went through some frustration.

Granted, being a game, free play doesn't make TopGolf any money, outside of an increased challenger base. Lose a "starter" ball, they're free. Lose a purchased ball, hey that is a buck to what, the higher balls could be 3 or more a piece to lose. In real life you lose balls, they are not free. My only cut to that here is, the number of hits count on the balls is somewhat ridiculous.

I golfed from when I was 12 through and into my 50's. There are two things I learned from all my years of golfing, all the different clubs I bought, all the green fees I have paid, etc. One is that I have never hit a ball that it disappeared just from being hit, other than woods, brush, water. The usual. I have never knocked the cover off a ball, put a slice in one, or otherwise damaged a ball with a club. I have dinged up a few from the ball hitting other objects. Not to the extent that you only get so many hits and "poof," ball gone.

I have 100's of golf balls, 2, 5 gallon pails full. I usually finished a season with more balls than I started. I used to have to take balls out of my bag. I was never surprised when I walked into the wood to find my ball, I sucked, and would find 2 or 3 more. See my ball in the water, get out the most used club in the bag, the ball retriever. Get mine, and a couple more.

As for equipment, in real life, some people can play with "starter" equipment. That set of clubs from a garage sale. Sometimes they were a good set. I originally started with my mom's hand me downs, while my older brother got dad's hand me downs.

The better equipment may make you a better golfer. Some clubs are designed and built better. Thing is, they have to be within the specs of the game. If you came out with a driver that could drive 600 yards, eh...

In this game, the skill factor has to put some of it on the equipment. It cannot be totally a skill game based on aim and how well you click. They do remove the buffs in some tourney games.

To each there own. Some people get frustrated and as another above said, frustration sells. Look at gambling. Most gamblers don't win to often. Something about a hormonal release that is greater when they lose, than when they win.

If you read all of this, thanks, writing is my way to de-stress. I don't golf in Real anymore. I just wish some of the people in this game would be, well, less a pain.

Yesterday, a guy made a comment, he was level 30, all starter. He said I was a POS, basically, I am para-phrasing for content. Something about my class, I took it to mean game level. I am 63, I think, right now. Been playing in the game since 2015. The name calling, homophobic and demeaning comments from people. The actual sexual and unwanted, and/or unnecessary statements.

Too each there own, just need to remember just because someone pays money for better equipment, doesn't mean they are a bad person. Just because someone can click well, doesn't make them a cheater. Sometimes people do get a "heartbeat" on every hole, with a "ding."
