Armoursmith, what am I missing?

I have a couple of Armoursmith in party but can't seem to equip any weapon other than the staff on them to upgrade, what am i missing? Any of the other slots work fine but not weapons.

I am pretty sure armorsmiths don't upgrade weapons. Also the armor upgrade thing happens randomly and you don't have equip them with the armor. That was the way it was before v1 patch.

Yea, just noticed they upgrade random gear., thanks tho. They have the trait "Multi wielder" which states they can equip any type of armour or gear though which looks to be wrong. Same thing on Weaponsmith

The main point of armoursmith is attaching mutators to gear pieces through missions. So you can get crit counterstrike sword + bleeding crits helmet on guardian for example.

yet, the quality of enhanced gears seems to be random
i found legendary silver helmet with immob crit,
but when i tried to enhance silver helmet with immob crit muataor i got rare

I think legendary gear can only be found in loot, not bought or crafted. A blackmarket in the 3rd area sells enhanced gear but it's all of rare quality.
It makes sense though, legendary gear should be legendary and not sold or crafted by some random dude.
However, since your smiths can level up their crafting skills, it might be possible to craft legendary gear later on, idk.

It's not random, it's always Rare after you enhance it, no matter its previous tier. However, it will upgrade your default weapons or armor to Rare status as well, which is good.
