The only thing changed is that Premium and Silver Cost has been lowered.
7.99€/Month as example with the first ever Premium you get 2 Months.
Also, if you want to own your deed (your part of private property in the land of Wurm) you will also need to pay silver.
You can either acquire silver by trading in game items with other players, or you can pay real money in order to get silver.
A demo? lmfao
There is no way to earn coin in game unless you've already paid for it. Some people say you can work for another player and get maybe 1 silver for 40 hours of work. Might as well get a part time job in real life and pay for the sub. There's no PRACTICAL way to earn money in game for new players without putting in lots and lots of real life time like it's a real job. If that's your thing then go for it.
It's only Free to Play until level 20. You can continue at level 20 and do many things but you can't ride a horse, build with stone, use a large cart being pulled by a team of horses and many other things that make the game easier to play.
So yes, Free to Play but with restrictions like many other Free to Play games.
And saying you can´t earn Silver without paying for it is simply a plain lie.
As it is it's limited and you'll have to sub at some point to even consider f2p long term.
don't even get me started on the economy which is 100% real money based.
Economy in Wurm has been a joke since forever. The only way there is any economy is when people spend real money to buy coin. That's the economy in Wurm. Has been forever. If people stopped buying silver it would kill any perceived economy.
Right, it's no promise you will see money as f2p, like if you play on pvp there's no economy, probably few coins being made/spend and no money in the coffers for a chance at rng coin.
In a way for some servers there is no economy/ very little economy which leaves skills.
for this game it means FreeDemo capped to 20\100 so you have acces to only 1\5 of content and mechanics in game
It is 100% possible to do a F2P in Wurm.
It's frustrating how many people want to look at "Premium" and say that the game is impossible to reach "end-game" without spending money from their own pocket.
It is entirely possible AND there are people in Wurm who would help you to do it too. My group is one of them.
But the key is, you have to stop being stubborn and looking at it as "I HAVE to pay money" because you simply don't!
Here's how I see it and how I think many players feel when they decide a game.
I am more likely to play to skill level 30, and pay to get to 40 than I am to play to 20, and pay for 30. Does that make sense? The more I invest my time, the more I am willing to pay.
but when a game locks me at level 20, where I'm limited from things like horse riding, crafting and advancing my combat to fight other players and entities, then I feel less attached are more likely to drop the game all together than to pay the monthly fee to unlock these features.
Why are you fixated on level 30 over level 20 ? Is there something you get at level 30 ? I don't know anything about the game, but I am not following your logic.
Yes actually a lot of things are locked beyond level 20. One of the first things is horse riding, which is level 21. Beyond that are things like the ability to build 2 story buildings, or to build a house out of stone which is unlocked at carpentry level 30. Combat is locked to 20 also.
You're only useful as a f2p to do the most basic of actions, like making bricks or shoveling dirt, or mining in a cave. Sure you can build a nice little homestead, but it can be taken from right under you if someone decides to put a deed over it. You can't own land as F2P, nor can you pvp.
Also might I add even if you do subscribe. If you stop for any reason you will have ALL of your skills reverted back to 20 until you subscribe again. So say you grind to 50 in 6 months of membership. Your character placed on heavy restriction even though you've payed $60 plus whatever silver cost because the whole game is based on RL money trading. Every single coin is bought with cash,
a deed cost RL money for upkeep on top of the premium price, too much to consider it f2p.
