Not really a big deal, no. Some people like to multi-box, or control several characters at once, by themselves, so they can accomplish things much faster alone.
The majority of players however just play on one main character and join a village, and work together.
some people like to crate new account and prem them up to get 5 sleep powder for only 12euro instead of the more expansive way ^^ and make the 2nd around as storages so they can loose or take dmg on items
i have few benefits but after the new link update its not really that worth it anymore but still you get get sleep powder down to the price for around 5sleep powder for 12 euro. which is alot cheaper then buy ingame coins and then trade the sleep powder to another account
You can still use two batteries to skill channeling and you don't think that's a massive advantage? You wanna see how many sprouts my fo priest can pop out with a battery? Wanna see the income I can make with LT with a battery vs the very little income I make with LT without a battery?
What about faith? Our group has about 6 actual players but about 18 premium characters purely for the listener bonus for sermons. We have 6 priests in total as well which includes every single religion and trust me, if we didn't have sermons going 24/7 we wouldn't be 50-70 faith on all the priests, we'd be more like 30-40 faith.
This all being said, is the advantage you get in Wurm any more then the advantage you'd get from multiple subscription accounts in Eve? Not really. Let's be honest here, dual-boxing or multi-boxing has been around since the 90's, I used to own 5 PS2's purely so I could power level my own group of 4 in EQOA.
Will running multiple premium accounts give you a benefit? Yes. Is it any different from any other MMO similar to Wurm? No.
It is better to learn the game before trying to specialice in areas like priests and see if rely like wurm or not, it is a quite special type of MMO after all.
Some but not defenetly not all players play the "trade game" part realy, I dont myself care much about that part , and still like wurm very much...
Basically, as a single player with no alts you are playing a budget version of Wurm.
Anyway its up to anyone to play as want to do ofcourse...
