Same here. Xbox One controller. I can use the controller fine in steam big picture to open up the game, and in other games, but then when Panzer Dragoon is running it defaults to M+KB

No go for me with a PS4 controller either wired or bluetooth. I've just refunded the game. Maybe I'l buy it again when it's down to $5. $25 for a broken port is stupid.

Is your controller connected through a external hub or straight to the motherboard usb ports? I fixed my controller issues by eliminating the hub in between.

PS5 Dualsense here. No controller Support. No answer from the devs so far.

My series X pad works just fine. Button layout is the same as on the Saturn too, except that zoom is on the right analog and X/Y is turning left/right (LB and RB are also turning so this is inconsequential).

I have the 1.4.2 version of the game and a wirelles Xbox series X controller. It works fine.
Playing on Windows 10 fully updated.

I bought the game, and could not make my xbox one controller work with this game. However, today in the steam library by accessing the game properties -> controller -> controller general settings, I was able to select the xbox controller and finally was recognised by the game. I never had to go through this steps with other games, but it doesn't matter. Finally the xbox one controller is working with panzer dragoon remake :).

I disabled Steam Input and Horipad FPS+ and Astro C40TR are working fine.

In general Steam Input better to be disabled for faster response.
But some controller (Switch, PS5) are required to have Steam Input and enabled.

This is how I got my Xbox controller to work:

Don't know if picking the official controller profile is relevant, but I did do that. Just for good measure, make sure controller firmware is updated.

Started the game. Keyboard and mouse is default. THEN connected my controller. Took a second, but eventually changed.

Tried this method wired and wireless. Both worked for me.

If the controller is already on, the game won't recognize it. If you start one way then want to switch, you have to turn the game off, turn off the controller, start the game, THEN connect the desired way.

Anyways, hope this helps somebody.
