It's a close call, but I would say it's worth the upgrade because the 3d race graphics are better; that's the main '20 upgrade (although I thought '19 3d graphics were great too). However, the style of the 3d game is the same -- the new game did not change how riders are selected or highlighted or other look/feel aspects in the 3d races as past games sometimes have done. Another good change: some (maybe many?) of the default stages have been improved, and they now sparingly include a few of the techniques that the mod-stage makers use (mixing buildings together to create something new and working outside of the auto-city generator). For anyone who avoids mods to only play the base game, I think the stage upgrades make the new game worth the upgrade.

But outside of the races, the game has hardly changed at all. As far as I can tell, they didn't touch the '19 Pro Rider interface for the new game. The Career interface does have improvements (you receive email messages differently, can build each rider's calendar a bit easier), but the game play has not changed much. The weird one-day sponsor selection menu lives on (so unrealistic -- teams wish they could choose from 3 sponsors every Aug. 1). And PCM19's rider point system has been kept.

Cool. The fem mod is uploading tomorrow, if all goes well. (Thanks, BB.) And if you have not played the ‘19 version for several months, there are a ton of improved stages now.

There's a fem mod? I haven't used any mods before. How does it work?
You should. Click on the Workshop tab, and you can click Subscribe to any of the player-created games. Once the game (or mod) downloads to your desktop, you can select the mod when starting up a new Career or Pro Cyclist or race.

What does it add/change?The description doesn't really say anything.
Over the default game, it has more races and more stage variants and many more teams. The mod has for example around 10 world champion races while the default game might have 2. But it is big for PCM (but not really that big compared to all PC games).

Interesting! So I'm assuming I shouldn't play without it?
