splitting 10s
i understand that there are deviations, but i have seen tons of people split 10s then lose, when they would have won if they didnt. i just don't see the point in potentially throwing away a winning hand

This is the reason so many players claim the "game is rigged" when it isn't. Bad strategy.

There is also no reason to ever split a hard 20. No pro blackjack player would ever do it.

Yeah, splitting 10s seems like bad strategy. The only time I can kind of when it makes sense to do that, is if a fresh deck had just been put in the shoe and the player is trying to get a count going. And they are intentionally trying to get more cards in the open using a minimum bet. But even then, that seems like a flawed move and would be better accomplished by splitting non 10 cards.

Splitting tens is really terrible strategy that costs you money over the long term. Standing on a pair of tens gives you ~85% chance of winning versus the dealer. Splitting the pair of tens drops this to 65% versus a dealer six (their weakest hand) and lower against other dealer up cards. Unless you are really good at counting cards, on a daily/weekly game mission, or in a tournament where you need to have more chips than the other players, NEVER split tens. Over the long haul, you'll win more and lose less.

I just downloaded this game and I am amazed at the amount of people splitting 10s. I've never seen it before lol. Every table I sat at they split 10s.
game doesnt use real money at all, so who cares
and inside of tournaments it does make alot of sense when the dealer card is low
