You sorta get used to it as you go, but it feels very clunky and unpolished. Of course, it is an unfinished demo so I hope it improves.
In general I found the controls to be fine. The jumping is a little fiddly, but I can see why it’s done that way - Gunpoint style. It makes things much clearer, and you don’t lose the feeling of being a cat as you miss the same easy (for a cat) jump five times in a row.
I do think the camera could do with some work though. It’s forever clipping through walls and ceilings, and that’s making it harder than it should be to position for things like lining up a jump.
The obvious game to compare to is Stray but that game cheated by not letting you fail anything, there was no real platforming. Jumps and balancing are all automatic. I don't think this game should go that way at all, the cat just needs to feel more agile in general. Maybe getting the fish will fix all these issues, but it still feels a bit awkward for my first impressions.
