Litter Picker is pissing me off

Recycling 100 cans? Really? Cans don't respawn in the environment (like plant pots) upon startup and it's a huge pain in the ass to find humans carrying cans. 50 would have been more than enough for this achievement. I wanna 100% that and now I gotta put in some hours of grind, which is unfortunate, because otherwise I have no other complains about the game (besides the v-sync issue). Please make those cans respawn or knock down the number of cans needed. I gave it a positive review, but I wish this one thing would change.

What doll said. Sprint into the vending machines head first. Do it while running around doing other quests and getting other achievements. It does take a bit of time but with the vending machines its not that bad.

That's interesting, because I already tried this yesterday, but it seeminly did not work on the vending machines next to the one I attacked in this fashion so I assumed it's a one-time thing for the achievement.

Well, this just gave me 25 cans, which is A LOT more effective than making people fall, which I imagined I have to do now. I can't really do it on the side, because I never recycled cans before. I just finished everything and basically just have this one (and taking pictures) left before returning home.

It still feels very grindy even with the vending machines.

Some machines give cans, some don't. And the machines do seem to respawn their cans upon startup. I will agree that I had a lot more trouble getting people with cans to trip and fall than pretty much any other people.

As for the grind, it's one of those things that if you took game play breaks to do a little grinding from time to time, it's not as bad. I've done that in vastly bigger games where I'd take a break after accomplishing something to do some mindless busywork.

If you're still working on this, one of the red vending machines between the the construction site and the store with the mayor gives between 6 and 8 cans. I would hit the machine, deposit the cans, save, load, repeat.

I agree, it's very grindy.

I don't care if it's simple, it's still a lot of time spent doing a repetitive task that isn't very interesting. Achievements should encourage fun gameplay, not just take up time.

I just wanna say that for me this achievement is bugged. It shows 1/100 even though I've recycled around 20 cans

I have spent hours working on this and it will not budge from 1/100. There is definitely something bugged with this achievement.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that even though Steam shows 1/100 cans recycled, the progress of the achievement in-game is accurate.
Once you hit 100, the achievement will still unlock.

As for collecting cans, only the red vending machines can be sprinted into by the cat. There's one near the grocery store with the old lady that generates 8 cans every time. You can save and load the game to make it keep spitting out cans until you reach 100.

There is a little exploit that I found out by accident. Once the animation of the cat depositing the can in the recycling bin starts, immediately press the button that makes it "meow" and the can should drop; but the animation should finish. That allows you to re-use the same can and repeat the same process, until you get the achievement.

Should be a faster and easier method, although the achievement itself is pretty easy.

HOW TO GET LITTER PICKER EASY;

1. find the red vending mancine + recycler behind the grocery store
2. ram the soda machine and 8 cans should pop out
3. recycle the cans
4. save ur game
5. load the save
6. repeat from step 2 until u get the achievement
