Jump sound
Every time I jump and land the game makes a noise like an orc in heat. I can't think of any way this could be a cat noise. Is it going to do this the entire bloody game?

I agree. Cats do "mrrr" when they jump, but that sound used ingame kinda distorted and doesnt sound like cat at all.

It doesn't sound like a trill to me either BUT I have some hearing loss due to tinnitus so am missing some of the higher pitched range. So if most people are hearing a trill it could be your ears or your speakers.

Have you ever owned or interacted with cats?

It's not a real cat noise but if you are projecting an orc in heat on it that's 100% on you dude.
Plenty. This is not a cat noise. It's not even an animal noise, unless you've got a sick frog or something.

Congratulations on taking figurative speech somewhere it wasn't meant to go! Now shoo.

It's 100% a real noise, and every cat I've had has made it at times when jumping or something to that extent. It's a sort of trill. It definitely doesn't happen every time they do, but artistic license and all that.

Unless you're experience some sort of audio bug, the sounds Kitty make when jumping are definitely cat noises! Commonly called a "trill" or jokingly "activation noise" [since they often do it when woken up], those little "brr" "brrm" "brrmp" noises are totally legit.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It definitely doesn't sound like a non-cat noise when I went back in and played a bit. I just think OP doesn't know what all noises cats are capable of, really.
I'm familiar with the trill. What I'm hearing is not a trill. Some kind of computer-end issue then. Cheers.

I'm very curious now what you're hearing!

Maybe if you go to youtube and scare up some let's plays, listen to a bit of those and see if it's the same?

Maybe also, try verifying the game files, restart steam?
I've had 7 cats. Maybe your first response shouldn't be "nah they definitely don't know what they're talking about."

How is anyone supposed to know you've had 7 cats? This whole "argument" is weird, anyway. There is nothing at all wrong with the sound in the game.
Gotta be an issue with your speakers or headphones or audio drivers, bro.
Literally my first reply was to say I've had many cats. The whole question was to determine if what I was hearing was normal.

Yeah, we already figured that out, keep up.
I hope your life turns out better in the future!

I have 4 cats. Jumping sound ingame is weird. And btw cats do not go mrrr on EACH jump.

After playing for roughly 8 hours, I also found the jumping sound a little weird.
