softlocked in early game? [possible spoiler]

Hi! I am super excited to finally play but have encountered a possible softlock?
I talked to Tanuki and was teleported to the other side of the fence, did everything there, talked to Beetle etc.
Without pushing away the box in front of the crawl-spot I went back to get a phone for beetle but cannot go back now? Tanukis portal doesn't work anymore and I cannot crawl through the dedicated spot in the wall because it's blocked from the other side.
Am I missing something or is this just an oversight?
I walked over the fence that is right at the wall of the house, where you can get to if you give the dog a bone.

I also softlocked there and just restarted because it was pretty early, I couldn't figure out a way back out. Supposedly the box should "move itself" but that didn't happen for me.

Try progressing further into the game a bit, you should be able to use Tanuki's teleport again and you can choose where to go. I would say to just leave it for now and come back when you can!

You should be able to return to the construction site the way you left it.

I left it by glitching up to the train station but there's no way to get back there

Not that hard... you just need to figure out the puzzle.

I've found two ways you can do to get back in:

1. Use the trash can right at the outside corner and run into it until you clip through the wall
2. In the Zen Garden area you can jump from the house on to the outside metal flue pipe, then just walk along it and jump back in to the area with the dog. It's a pretty tricky jump but it's manageable

How do you get back from the construction site? There's either water in my way or fence or other stuff. Tanuki only thanks me for my help. Gave the doge a bone. Cannot even get to a person with a phone.

Edit: Right after writing this comment, I managed to get back via train tracks... but now cannot get back to the construction site... Have not moved the box, the worker kept chasing me off u_u

I just realised I'd save a lot of time if I started the game anew rather than trying to find my way back to the construction site xD

Oh bugger.. I did the same thing..

I thought you were meant to walk across the fence to jump out and didn't even realize there was a box blocking the hole in the fence.. Ugh.

Thanks, will ignore it for the time being I suppose.

Hope the devs see this oversight in the meantime though!

Yes, if you've managed to get out of the construction site without moving the box which blocks the crawl exit, then you're indeed softlocked and you won't be able to get there anymore, even after completing the game and unlocking all tanuki's portals. You'll need to restart the game from scratch or try to clip through a wall. I've managed to clip through the wall behind the trash can, so it's possible.

Guess I'll try one of these clips or jumps people are describing here then..

^ I guess from reading that however it's not 100% 'Essential' to do the bee quest to finish the game, and I can ignore it entirely?
