Escape The Ayuwoki (HELP PLEASE)

I just found this game and so far it's amazing in detail and over all experience except for a few things that I need to figure out before I can advance. So for one I see other people playing and talking about a Version 1.5 being out and my game came as a version 1.0. It recently updated yet it still says v1.0. How is that even possible? I see people playing the game on youtube and it's as though they have a completely different build of the game than mine. There are no places to hide or escape the monster in the first chapter really with the exception of breaking game physics. He won't seem to leave me even when I hold my breathe and stay quite while shutting off the flashlight. He just keeps standing there watching me and if I move I am dead but if i stay there to hide he never leaves so it's like I am just trapped forever. If anyone knows anything please please help me. (UPDATE) I got passed the first chapter, however I am still curious as to how people are playing version 1.5 and I just bought the game and checked for updates just to find that I am still on version 1.0.
