Graphic character design is similar, yeah, but their personalities are written well enough to forget about the character design.
Not to mention that Dream Daddy is just a very short and simplistic dating sim, nothing much else, really. Even Coming Out on Top characters are written way better than Dream Daddy.
And with all that said, Uncle Neighbor is not exactly a dating sim. Or at least I would not describe it that way, because some of the topics touched there are quite realistic and important.
All LIs:
- are 183 cm + X large (and therefor larger than the MC)
- have some kind of beard
- look like they just jumped out of a Superman Comic (that is - per se - not bad!).
The author shows that he can draw different kinds of men with his NPCs. He just doesn't offer any as LI!
I won't comment on the story as I can't read chinese (and I REALLY hope that some of the story / plot twists are just due to the terrible translation).
So far I would only say all characters act about 5 years younger than their described age (except Gene perhaps). The author should tone down the wealth level of some LI and he should really reconsider the MCs attitude towards teenage boys (esp. when he meets Roger).
Yup : ) I like the illustrations better personally. This game is on the top of my list because of the outfit choices and positions. It's really a well done game and it's about to get even more awesome!
They are all a bit alike, may be but they are amazing designed and with backgrounds and personalities totally defined and with the incoming DLC this could be amazing. I think the major hit this game has is the translation but I hope It will be better with time but anyway it is playable and for me, way better than Dream Daddy and I don't think this is a ripoff.
I won't argue on body diversity since all the uncles are jacked AF (not that I'm complaining since I actually like muscle guys), but age diversity isn't true. One of the oldest for romance is Gene at 41 years old and youngest is Giles at 27 years old. Now if you were hoping to date a hunky college boy at 18 or hunky grandpa at 60 then I guess you're out of luck for now.
Dream Daddy aims at teenage girls with gay daddies fantasy. There're also game focus on twink dating, chubby dating or chiseled model type and so on. If you want those you can find them very easily and have the experience you want.

Dream Daddy aims at straight people in general, it was straight men first bxb dating sims and the game was made because someone thought that a dad dating another dad would be funny, the only reason some gay men and fujoshi were into it was because it was main stream for a while because it was a game "made" by game grumps, if it wasn't for them it would never had been popular and neither gay men or fujoshi would have play it.
Yea it needs some work, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good game.
It has good storylines, (if you can get past the translation issues, which isn’t even an issue in my eyes)
The LI are a bit similar, but like others have said, the storylines are very different.
Also, Dream Daddy didn’t do it first. There have been many VN that are Gay themed wayyyyy before Dream Daddy came out.
Dream Daddy was a cash cow for the Game Grumps, and that’s it.
No DLC, no updates, no love.
This game has all the above. Period.
Don’t compare games, and don’t say it’s a knockoff. It’s not a new thing.
Well on your side you got a point but from now what I saw about this game it looks really nice to play for. I saw a let's play on YT about Alex's Route and it seems to be interesting how you are able to learn more about this character.
Of course the men are the same body type (mostly) even the side characters like the boss named Benson or the co-worker.
But i have to defense the creator behind this game because I love the art style it is unique i guess. Most of the typical so called "Bara"-Games and art style from the east are very buffed and so on, in my eyes. And here we have a mix between western and eastern art style which looks very interesting (beside the one body type here) and even the backgrounds are nice to watch because they look handmade and not so over the top polished. It fits very good and for me it is a good variety to the rest of these sort of games. For my taste "Dream Daddies" went into the right direction (but there should be more) but to compare these two games it would be like comparing apples with tomatoes, haha.
