In order to increase rank, you need to:
I do not think a Unit Cap helps anyone at all.
The Game has enough issues, without adding to them.
A brief history of the Unit Cap:
There would be two main reasons for a Unit Cap; Performance OR Balance.
> Performance Based Unit Caps were needed in the days of Windows 95 and such, as Computer's simply didn't have the memory to handle too many 'Objects' in a Game at once. The Modern usage of Performance Based Unit Caps is usually caused by Network related Activity, where there needs to be a Limit due to a Narrow Band-Width.
> Balance Based Unit Caps were first introduced to counter Players who'd stack up 100 of the Best Unit in a Game, and then break the Game Balance doing it. Nobody wants to have to face 100 Mammoth MKII's in Tiberian Sun all in one go (since they're Anti-Everything).
In this instance, I think that the Unit Cap is actually holding the Game back, and should be removed, as there are too many Patrol Routes to cover. You're often having to spend the later part of the Game using exclusively Air Support and the two Drones you have, in order to win the Game.
On a Related Note what's with the Achievements, they are NOT triggering at all.
