The way remote play works is that it's as if you and your friend are both playing on the copy of the game that is hosting the connection. Remote Play is basically a nifty screensharing system, where 1 person actually runs the game, and the other person connects remotely to play on that same instance of the game.. so the save file of the host will be the one being used, the other person doesn't even have to own the game.
I'm sure OP had been referring to the battle arena in Geo.

I was curious about how they are going to handle save files, as well.
Previously during the Playstation 1 era, multiple save cards could be utilized at once to load other player's characters into the host's game.
And in emulation / playstation 3 (also emulation, basically).. that was changed so that individual characters were saved as a separate save partition on the same drive.
Considering Steam's track record with ports.. I assume it will work roughly the same as the playstation 3 emulation.
... I'm actually hoping whomever coded the port had some foresight about how multiplayer would work with remote play, and set it so each created character has their own distinct save file that the game client can call to.
Just as I walked away from this post, I thought of something that may work to get both player's save files running.. IF the port only retains the playstation 3 style of saving.
(Obviously, I haven't gotten to test this- because the game is still locked on steam)
BUT, Maybe.. a sequence something like..
1- Host Player loads their character normally
2- Move to dominia (stand in front of the door to summon player 2)
3- Delete the hosts save file from the steam folder and replace it with Player 2's save file
4- summon player 2's character, move to Geo and Duel
(No guarantee this won't completely corrupt the 2nd save file)
i apologize, but im struggling to fathom the premise behind such a request?
or how such implementations of "save states" would actually benefit anything?
i understand remote playing with your friends for the sake of fun.
but i also recognize why people want "Save states" and i can read between the lines.
play the damn game and progress as intended.
Steam Remote Play is not supported with this game.
What the actual f**k do you mean ? youre legit missing the point... Me and my brother want to play the game by our own and just go do missions together with both our save files. before saying unrelated stuff like that because you have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ life and need to piss on people just ask whats the purpose of the OP please because right now its just toxic.
