Does it run any differently? I've been seeing some complaints about the PC version.

Personally, I picked it up on PC simply because I've grown used to playing LoM on the PC over the years. And when delving into some of the more complex systems like Tempering, it's helpful to be able to Alt-Tab at will and not have to have another device with the info on it. That said, the switch being portable can be really nice if you lead a more active lifestyle or are away from the house for long periods.

PC

Use the controller you want, mods, ALT-TAB, ReShade, Steam Cloud, Steam Achievements, multiplayer via Remote Play Together, and portability via Steam Link app on Android/iOS.

I have both.

IMO - Switch version has some frame rate lag, but it doesn't seem to be as bad as on PC, but then again my PC is like on its last laps. It noticeably chugs when casting magic on switch, unlike on PC it seems like out of nowhere sometimes. For being a port of an old game tho, I bought both with different goals, PC to use cheats and mods(when they happen) and Switch for Nostalgia.
Game is good as a portable, so I'm leaning towards switch.

M2 is so prevalent in the game port scene that toolkits have been built specifically for their file systems. All it takes is interest (or in this case, necessity).

PC

Wait someone made mod let Sierra look better.
PC. you cant apply reshade to the switch version to fix the terrible sprites and character portraits, or horribly washed out color pallete.

Thanks.

you do know you can stream steam games to your cell phone right?

And that's fine, but the Switch version has a more stable frame rate, and less lag during combat/etc.
gameplay is identical. do you actually experience the ridiculous stuttering that other guy keeps posting videos of? i dont, and i have a bunch of shaders on top of it.

Yes, the lag in combat is very noticeable on Steam, especially if you use more specific attack tech, such as spin attacks or power cancels. Spin attacks will literally freeze the entire screen if you hit multiple enemies (and that lag is not present in the original, and is much less present in the Switch version).
thats not LAG its STUTTERING. its because either your cpu/gpu arent strong enough to run the game (which would be amazing how you manage to even load web pages if that were the case), you dont have enough free RAM/pagefile, or you have something else running thats causing it. the stutter is not from the game itself. watch, all you people having issues (and by "all" ii mean the like 3 people who claim this is a thing) just have some horribly outdated version of your GFX drivers, or are missing some key component to actually using your CPU fully.

I mean I had a situation when the game went into slowmo for no reason but I changed to the Fullscreen mode and it went away. On the switch on handheld mode it never didn't have slowmo for me. Even on liuon highway which is a pretty light map artistically. Anyway, I recommend PC because of remote play and save state manipulation.

Tossing in my two cents as well, I have a 5-6 year old desktop that has zero issues running LoM on steam. The absolute worst I've ever noticed has been for two specific screens in the game, one of which was a one-time-only event location that you don't even fight in. I don't understand where the complaints of "Lag" or "Stuttering" are coming from in the first place, far as I can tell on my old machine it doesn't exist.

stop calling it lag, its not lag. its stuttering due to your poor quality hardware, or software you have running in the background causing said stutters. its not "slow down" if the game freezes when you do anything that raises the CPU/GPU load. youre trying to blame the game for your outdated $25 computer and malware ridden hard drive.

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, and not assume you are trolling.

I have a $3k rig that has no problem running anything, and we have tested this without running anything other than the game -- there is a whole community of people who have also shown the issue is real, and is reduced on the Switch version.

More frames are lost on PC than the Switch version currently -- this may end up being patched eventually. It may also go away with Denovo getting phased out later, who knows.

You have also thrown out a good bit of misinformation on the game in other threads; it's okay to be incorrect about something, but you should accept it instead of being weirdly rude about it.

And honestly: If you can do the below and literally not drop frames -- tell me, and we will use the information to help sort out the other people with the issue:

1) Start up a game, or load a game
2) Equip Spin as one of your abilities
3) Go to Highway and start a battle that has 2-3 enemies
4) Spin Attack (Spin then use a Power Attack (quick attack is smaller and does not work the same)) and hit multiple enemies at the same time

If you do not drop frames when you simultaneously hit enemies, and can show it, then that's awesome -- it means we can fix one of the most annoying issues of trying to run on PC.

The above example is not the only one, but it is the easiest one to demonstrate, and the frame issues are not in the original game.
i can spin to win and everything else, my FPS never drop below 60 and my game never stutters. run some cleanup software on your PC, and stop browsing shady porn sites. because its either that, or your "30000$ pc" was 3k about 15 years ago.
