I lost Niccolo

I lost Niccolo after starting Business Unusual 3 and I can't find him anywhere. I looked in Domina, Gato Gratto, and Lumina and I don't have any other "town" areas placed yet. Any ideas where he idles?

This quest seems buggy. One of my flowerlings turned into a copy of me, lucky it wasn't the one i needed to use. He was in Lumina when i played, in the shop, not the lamp shop.

I looked around Mindas Ruins and didn't see him. I also checked the item and weapon shops in Lumina but no luck. I know if you lose him during his first mission he goes back to Domina but it sounds like his other missions can be cancelled. I didn't expect he just vanishes from the game, though.

I know if you lose him during his 4th quest he usually hangs out in polpota harbor shore, but I have no idea where is he is during the third.

How did you lose him? by leaving the area or by going home?
I know some quests can fail if you leave the area, (dream teller and reach for the stars being the big two) but I hope that this isn't one of them. :(

I just realized the mission is X in the journal so it was unceremoniously cancelled. Now I'm toying with the idea of modifying my save file so that I don't miss out on just this during my playthrough. Surprisingly it doesn't look like anyone's ever made a resource for this for any version of the game.
