It unfortunately is a rather.... unstable program. It can be made to work but you might have to deal with some frustration in doing so. Even once it is running it can still spaz out or act weird. Not exactly the highest quality.
Though also it doesnt help that the controller really just doesnt have quite enough bloody buttons for this. The game needs both rapid fire AND non-rapid fire, since some guns require charging, that sort of thing.
On a side note, I'd also like to point out that for keyboard/mouse users who might want to add autofire, a program called Autohotkey can do it for you. It's a bit more complicated but extremely versatile in what it can do, the community for it has come up with plenty of scripts and such. I use this for those very few FPS-style games I play, so I dont have to click a billion times.
