TACVIEW is not recording DCS.

I had non steam Tacview but i deleted that one and downloaded from steam. But my DCS is not detecting TACVIEW from steam. Any idea guys?

Hi, did you launch Tacview directly from Steam at least one time? This will trigger additional install scripts necessary for DCS World.

YUP i launched it multiple times. completly removed it and then reinstalled but no luck.

unfortunately i removed steam Tacview. I am back to other version.

If you install other apps like a SRS for example, it can overwrite Tacview code in Export.lua. The best way is to make Export.lua manually by putting there all code lines you need.

Hey, unfortunately the problem did not go away so i had to download other version of TACVIEW directly from Google.

Steam's version of Tacview is confirmed to work fine with any version of DCS World. Here are some general troubleshooting tips:

• Make sure you launch Tacview directly from Steam one time.
  
  
• Copy the contents of
  
  

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview\DCS\

  (Mods and Scripts folder) or

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tacview\DCS\

  (Mods and Scripts folder) into

  %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\

  and/or

  %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\

• In your file

  Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua

  and/or

  Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Export.lua

  , look for the following line:
  
  

  local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewGameExport.lua')

  
  If it's not there, add it manually.
  
  If none of that helps please send your DCS log to [e-mail] .

yeah having same problems.... thinking about a refund because i have no clue what this lua stuff is haha. i will just break everything.

tried some of what you suggested, it wanted me to overwrite game files. wasn't going to do that... sent the log to the email address provided but also requested refund.
