somebody's gotta make this happen. i might actually stop playing elden ring for that.
you could even use assets from the previous pixel remasters to remaster t edition.

What is so good about the T edition? I saw Tomato play some of it and it looked harder but there was nothing that stood out. I think he had to fight carbuncle before obtaining the magicite.

T-Edition is a massive overhaul and rebalance, also adds alot of new content to the game - new scenario's and events, tons of new spells, abilities, bosses, music, outfits, and plenty of major quality of life adjustments, such as Umaro being a controllable character (and a damn good one at that). It's really worth a playthru if you really enjoy FF6 and want a unique challenge.

I guess I'll try it. I've been meaning to see how that CRT filter in Retro Ark looks on the original FF6.

I didn't even know t edition was a thing. A popular japanese rom hack? How come I never knew about this? According to the above, it really does add lot of stuff? So it's fun, right?

T-Edition is probably one of the if not the most famous JP rom hack of 6. it started development back in 2015 or so.

It's been around for quite a while atleast.

Hmm some stuff is easy to edit, like abilities, items, drops and such, actual editing core scripts is pretty hard right now.

Most people only know it from recently, however.

Unfortunately, and that's because it just recently got translated into English, but it's been an amazing hack for years now.

T-Edition is super difficult too, which is what I love about it! it's like the hardcore version of ff6.
And I think that's what these pixel remasters really need: more difficulty

From what I heard of it from some reviews on romhack is that it's stupidly grindy and gets too hard later but is still worth picking up just to at least experience the new things in it.

So I saw a video and noped out on FF6 sprite rips with the unaltered battle sprites from FF5 and music rips from other games. Clashing styles are almost a trigger for me (giving me flashbacks to the early days of rpg maker).

Someone please make this happen. I can't go back to vanilla after T Edition, it is braindead easy. T Edition has so much new content too.

T-Edition sucks. If you want difficulty, make it yourself with the save editor. That's what I've done this time around, only 6 characters can use magic (which means only they can equip espers, too), only 7 or 8 can use items. Every other slot I switched around so each character is a mix either of 2 character's, or they have a Relic ability as a base ability (like Celes has Magic, Control and Doublecast, though I've only allowed myself to use control to get blues and to steal). Sabin has pray, so you have a heal early on, but as it is magic based it gets pretty crap by mid-game.
I've had to actually think about what sort of team I want to build, rather than just "get everyone magic. What stats do I want to boost like crazy?" Magic being rare, and only having a couple summons per battle at most, has made it more interesting too. I find myself actually using things like rasp when I never would normally.
I've also kept myself below level.
