Gigantaur on this version?

I know exactly where he is SUPPOSED to show up in the GBA and later versions and that he is SUPPOSED to fight you in the west portion of the desert JUST south of Maranda after you beat 10 of the regular size cactaurs but I've been grinding the right spot to fight him and I'm now well past the 10 cactaur requirement. Is he still there in this version or no because the only thing I can get to spawn there still would be the regular cactaurs and slagworms?

We're missing that content and I don't think modders have discombobulated this version like they have the snes.
