It's actually a pretty good theory. Maybe she suffered disfigurement in the crash and that's why she wears those robes to cover her whole face and body.

That wouldn't explain what she was doing in the water temple tower in FFV.

Easy, she traveled between games with cid. He gave her one of his spare airships from V on their way to VI and that's where the enterprise comes from. Too easy.

Has anyone heard the theory that since Gogo is a mime and Kefka is a clown, Gogo is the good half? like the experiments the empire ran on him separated the good and evil halves?

Only if Rinoa is Ultimecia (I love both theories :) )

Part of me always felt like Gogo was Banon because he exiled himself since the Returners failed. Though I can see this as well, hmm...

Kefka isn't really a clown. He is a harlequin. Which weren't just court-jesters, they were seen as sort of the bad side of court comedy. They were the Louis CK's of their day. They came from the hellequin, essentially the actors in Late Medieval plays that played the roles of demons, devils, or those being corrupted by them. They, in turn, get their name from the earlier High Medieval bands of ruffians (often hired mercenaries) roaming around France in the 11th-13th centuries. They were marauders sometimes, saboteurs sometimes, and seen at the time to be minions of the devil (when really they were minions of the Normans, Burgundians, Flemish against the French Crown or its allies). The name literally means "demonic" or "devil" or "being from Hell".

I've always felt Kefka is an homage to this, both parts. He is a "demon", willingly "sells his soul" for power, and literally deals with The Devil (statue). He is "comedic", but only in his own eyes, and hopping mad exactly like harlequins played.

hopping mad or dancing mad? missed opportunity.

Just to stay on topic, Gogo is Gogo... he originated in FFV as a secret job class... and seeing as the characters in FFVI are technically all locked in to a job class, he is what he is.. he is Gogo, he's a mime... the end. Daryll is dead... it fits the theme, FFVI is all about love, loss and tragedy... no one any of these characters loves survives, which is why they all band together and create their own motley crew.... they are their new family.

I won't try to change your mind on a theory I support. xD

Of the two ancient theories about Gogo's origin, I prefer the other, because it's patently absurd.

99.999% sure Daryll and Setzer were VERY CLOSE.
Too close for Gogo to pretend she doesn't know Setzer.
Wouldn't make any sense at all. And no reason, either.

Unless she doesn't KNOW she is Daryll.
