Pixelated sprites?
So, I bought final fantasy VI pixel remaster but when I start playing, it all looks so pixelated. The world, the sprites, everything. It looks like a snes version. I have a ryzen 7 5700g, 16 gb of ram and my monitor is a samsung f24t35. I can play at a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 p but that should be enough, and I don't think I need a dedicated gpu for this game. I play far more demanding games with my pc. Am I doing something wrong? There aren't many options for display ingame. I'll appreciate any advice.

Since this is based on the GBA version, this is a 240x160 pixel screen blown out to whatever you're using. It's going to look extremely pixelated even with a filter.

But I see all this screenshots you guys post and it looks great. I've seen many videos in youtube too where everything looks fantastic. The sprites look so smooth and the background too. So I thought maybe it was my setup or maybe there's some kind of configuration I'm missing.

No, at full screen resolution (even 800x600 windowed too, actually) everything does look kind of blown up and blocky. I had to get used to it, too.

Thanks man, I thought it was just me. I don't know which platform the other players are using, it looks so good in their screenshots and videos.

As far as I can tell, this remaster was designed for phones and tablets, more so than computers.

Have you set Graphic Display to "Classic"?

Isn't this clearly a troll (albeit an amusing one)? If not, the topic creator is likely conflating the iOS/Android port with this version.

No, I've set it to "Standard". Classic only makes it worse.

Not a troll, I just asked a question to the community. I think that's the whole point of this forum, to help each other. Maybe I was mistaken to think the pc version would look as good as the android/ios version, but that's not something to get upset about don't you think? I love the game and i'll play it no matter how it looks. Sorry if my question offended you in any way.

I thought the same, but it looks better in motion and screenshots look nicer.

Really? I'll try it then, thanks!

Didn't know that, thanks!

It's not about offended. The mobile port of FF6 was ♥♥♥♥ and it's legit to think you confused one for the other. Either that or you never played the snes version of FF6 before. What you see there in the remaster is exactly what FF6 started as and was meant to be. I'm not sure what the issue is. It's literally a PIXEL remaster. A snes like version that looks a bit prettier.

One correction: the SNES version looks nicer because it has more pixels on the screen. Graphics looks "crisper".
