Anyone else missing a TON???
My melee attacks are missing a TON on all characters. I never remember missing this much. Like celes can't hit a lobo to save her life (literally, she's dying to lobos cuz she is missing 8 times in a row). And no one is blind. They're just missing.

Terra is missing on those little rabite things outside Narshe despite being way higher level now. It's just odd. I feel like the math is off.

Sounds like they fixed a bug then. It used to be that the Evade% stat didn't do anything.
Well there is at least one known bug that has been verified by several players now:

Equipping Gau with a shield in his right hand results in ALWAYS missing physical attacks.
Putting it in his left hand works fine.

So maybe other similar bugs with the other characters exist.
I can verify this, I counted 15 straight missed attacks between Terra and Loche, one hit for Terra and then ANOTHER 8 straight misses. Along with the insane back attack %....this is nuts!
I agree the Back Attack rate is crazy high. I'm like "I'm gonna need that relic to prevent back attacks this run. And I NEVER used it, EVER in the SNES or GBA or iOS releases lol."
The steal rate (probably with auto battle) is surely bugged. It took me, and I'm not exaggerating, roughly 10 minutes of auto battle with Locke having the Running Shoes equipped to steal a Bandana from Zaghrem. Everyone was back row and Terra and Edgar were guarding constantly and I still had to cast cure at least 4 times to not die to the single digit damage he was doing to me (teens to Locke since he wasn't defending). According to past versions, this should be a 12.5% steal rate...
Feels like in the world or ruin you miss more than in the world of balance. I don't even have Gau yet and I'm missing a lot. In Mt. Zozo I was missing about 95% of the time with all 4 characters. If it wasn't for Blitz and Tools I wouldn't be able to hit anything.

Also has anyone noticed how if the Mug Bear flees if you have commands inputted already the battle keeps going and you just get NO EFFECT (once per command already input) and then the battle finally ends?
It does seem pretty bad, yeah. My Illumina+Ragnarok Locke missed 3/4 attacks in the final battle. I know they fixed the bug so that Evade actually does stuff but it feels like they overdid it, especially since -- according to snes mechanics -- I don't believe level is factored into accuracy at all. They might have changed it, though. I'll try again after grinding.
Unless I read the weapon data wrong, weapons are capped at 100 accuracy now, when weapons like Illumina/Light Bringer, used to have 255 Accuracy.
It was almost impossible for me to steal clothes and uniforms in South Figaro during the party split scenario.
Not sure what's going on there.

Was pretty easy for me....I even did it several extra times because I wanted to make sure I had them in the bestiary and had to go back and forth.

This is probably the case. I kinda wish they left an option to keep the original version with bugs and all. The game is great but I miss the Vanish/Doom and the evade bugs.
seems fair to me so far
Now that you mention that, I don't recall missing this much in any other version of Final Fantasy VI. It hasn't gotten me any Game Overs yet, most of those have been from trying to get Master Gambler as well as one against Number 128 while trying to steal the Kazekiri (didn't succeed), but it is something that I've realized. I better buy a couple of Sniper Eyes for when I get to Mt. Zozo...

Mt. Zozo enemies were always supposed to be really high physical evasion. So if you're remembering what that area was like from playing versions before it was fixed (SNES/PS1) where that stat was literally non-functional then it's a pretty rude awakening since it makes that dungeon WAY harder.

The OTHER reason to save shadow. You can go straight to Jidoor and pick up Relm (with her high starting magic) and mostly just spell your way up the mountain.
