Difficulty is juiced
There is definitely something wrong with it. The Lethos on the Lethe River can randomly meteor you to wipe out Bannon, had it happen twice even though I took the shortest possible route. Also Tunnel Armor is able to hit you with magic and do enough damage to wipe your character in one shot, can cast it on you when it's Celes' turn to use Runic but before your Runic can be renewed. Long time FF6 vet, none of the other versions had these problems. wtf SE?

Did you up the battle speed? Battle speed only affects enemies. Tunnel Armor can be one shot with a thunder rod found in the upstairs section of the same cave if you didn't loot that chest on your first trip through.

Some extra difficulty would certainly not be a bad thing IMO. FF6 is pretty easy as far as Final Fantasy games go.

I have only done that once just for the helluvit, I usually save the chest for the Hero Ring. But perhaps it may be something to consider if you want to avoid grinding at this part of the game because it can do enough damage to one shot you with the magic. And just using the normal speed, wait command.

Yeah but it shouldn't be hard this early in the game imo. It is what it is, I successfully passed it on the 4th try.

That enemy has always been able to threaten a wipe with Fireball. Don't let them last to turn 3, target them first.

Tunnel Armor has certainly been able to sneak in a spell while selecting Runic. It sucks when it happens, but in this version you can use the Autobattler to minimize that chance.

Yep, definitely had many spells sneak past Runic in the originals all the time. BUt really you should just be grabbing the Thunder Rod in the cave and breaking it on its face anyway :/

I'm now in World of ruin and i find the game is now harder then it used to be. Ok some fights were much easier like the shifting guy in the magitek facility did not shift no more. While other bosses were more resistant to some attacks and spells making the fight harder. I've also had a harder time doing the floating continent compared to what i remember from snes.

The Magitek Armor in Figaro almost kicked my butt.

Complete opposite experience. No grinding, just making sure equipment is up to date, and this is cake. Going from the SNES bugs, like evasion, to actually blocking 1/4 - 1/3 of attacks as it's supposed to is amazing. Status effects working as intended: awesome.

Had to bring Celes in for the first Kefka fight. All hit spells would one shot

It's definitely a bit harder then the SNES version. Have had to use alot more pots/pheonix downs in the first 3 hours then I ever did in an entire playthru in the SNES version . I noticed I run into alot more back attacks. Also in Zozo the dancer mobs can cast Blizzaga/Thundaga right away before you even get a turn and almost one shot you.

My biggest embarrassments with the Pixel Remaster so far has been the Guard Commander and the Cranes. I actually almost lost to both, which has never happened to me before this version.

What level were you?

I assume "Lethos" is "Lesser Lopros".

Lesser Lopros's AI has always used fireball on turn 3.

Tunnel Armor is also another fight that has always been very dangerous, to the extent that several of the guides on gamefaqs recommend grabbing the thunder rod to use it on it.

Enemies attack faster here (even on normal speed) so people not used to their turn 3 now get to see it devastating Bannon.
