Did they censor Pedo Edgar?

Does Edgar still tell Relm he wants to smash when she's 18 in Thamasa or did they take it out? I can't imagine them leaving that in.

That was never the line in Super Famicom Japanese or in the SNES English version. Not sure what version of the game that could be in.

Edit: scratch that on the Super Famicom Japanese version. It's a different sort of "uh oh". I see that it was in the Game Boy Advance version?

I saw in another thread that the Pixel remaster uses the GBA script which says:

I'm actually disappointed in the three of you for needing to even explain this.

Maybe English isn't your first language. Or maybe the standards have changed. Maybe you don't have daughters of your own to see how gross or disgusting that comment was. Why is he even entertaining or fantasizing about what this girl will be? Edgar could have just as easily shut up about it, but nah, he had to go and consider it.

Let's paint the picture in a different way.

Edgar has established that he's FF6's Quagmire, giggity-giggity.
Edgar walks over to Shadow.
Edgar "Your daughter isn't even a lady yet... here's hoping she's still around in eight years. (GBA version)"
Edgar "I was considering it, but it would be a crime (Japanese version)."
Shadow "How thoughtful. You're willing to wait until my daughter is of legal age. You're an upstanding human being."

If the above doesn't gross you out or creep you out, then this is where someone would follow-up and say, "Thanos was right."

Having said all that. Sqenix should either just leave it there or change it to the Japanese translation (still creepy). If he's a creep, he's a creep, and they shouldn't disguise that.

I agree. Pedo may not be the applicable term, but there's a lot of hand waiving going on here. It's creep behavior.
