So let me get this straight...
You want me to pay $75.00 for remakes of FF 1-6:
1. With LESS content than prior releases?
2. Soft, blended sprites that lack detail compared to the originals
3. Better backgrounds?

Am I missing something here?
Why would I pay so much money for an inferior version of these games?

If they actually kept ALL the bonus content of prior releases, I would strongly consider it, but paying for neutered copies seems stupid...

Thank goodness I own all the original steam releases...

The blended sprites aren't missing detail. And the game wasn't intended to have the GBA content. Think of that stuff as a mod add-on.

Looks like less detail to me...

And again, why would I pay money for a clearly inferior version of the game with LESS content...

If modders actually insert all the added content of prior remakes, I might consider buying this then, but until then it just looks like inferior versions of the games being sold for a stupid price.

I would read the Reddit thread you use as evidence. The sprites all suffer from screen grab artificing off a YouTube video and there’s a lot of points in favor of the new sprites.

As for less content, that is 100% an assumption. We won’t actually know ti tomorrow, and there’s evidence they have in fact made additional changes, like adding magic recovery items to the first game, substancislly changing the gameplay.

Will see, but sprites look like ♥♥♥♥ comparatively as far as I am concerned and I don't have high hopes for any of the bonus content.

If I am wrong and they actually have all the bonus content, than I will be pleasantly surprised and come back to this topic and admit my assumptions were incorrect.

That’s cool. I’m just saying no one should leap to conclusions about things based on a load of speculation.

Are you comparing FF6 sprites to the remaster of FF1? Those are 2 different games entirely.

Why do you want the added content? It sucked like the 1997 re-release of Star Wars.

Anyway, if you want the added content version, then just buy that version.

I am not, if you look at the websites posted, they are comparing the same games to the same games...

As for the added content, I disagree that it sucked, it allowed me to spend even more time in the game and get rewarded for it. I see no sucking at all there...

And I also have all the versions of the games with the added content, this remake looks like crap though.

You clearly don't like extra content, and refuse to see the difference in character detail between the sprites. which is odd because you made a topic comparing them. At least Gabby has some real points...

Maybe for you the art is style thing and you prefer the washed out style they are presenting, but I am not a fan at all

Then what details are missing in the FF6 sprites? They are basically the same, but with a more natural color blending. The new sprites actually uses twice the colors.

Everything is washed out and blurry compared to the original sprites... I don't understand how you don't see that.

Edit:
I think this is a style preference and I personally HATE the new style.

This person from your own topic is able to explain what I am referring to better than I was:

It isn't a positive thing that CRT washed things out, nor should a new Remaster aim to provide an even worse washed out experience. My point was that the Pixel Remaster is far more painfully washed out in comparison to OG FFVI, with or without CRT. You can see this in the new Narshe tilesets. The tilesets are painful to look at. The snow is flat, the roof tops are 2 light tones making definition lost as if it's just a flat surface, everything is way too bright and the higher pixel outlines of the new sprites sits very terribly against the backgrounds. I do not see this as a positive thing, as a pixel artist myself, it's just not good looking.

All of the art is from the DOT artbook by the way, if you are curious to see more of what we are getting across these Pixel Remasters. You can see if they made sprites for Biggs and Wedge too. If they did, it's probably just not integrated yet into the FF6PR. I would find it very odd if they kept a lot of NPC character sprite work exactly the same as the original. I agree with you there. Hopefully that's not the case. xD

No, I don't like the bonus content. I specifically play the PS1 version to avoid it. And because audio and visuals are better, too, compared to the GBA.

Btw, the visuals were supposed to look "washed out" on an old CRT screen. Those are the intended colors in the Pixel Remaster.

And it looks like ♥♥♥♥... So yeah visually its a downgrade as far as I am concerned.
Rhyagelle was able to explain my concern better and I quoted his post.

Do you want me to copy and paste my rebuttle to Rhyagelle here too? Is that what we're doing now?
dustin1280 Jul 27, 2021 @ 1:13pm
You can feel free to copy the rebuttal, but it won't change my opinion. The "intended look" as you guys are trying to explain it, is crap...

You're the type of person who can't accept change, even when it is for the better. You like the "saturated" look of old pixel games on a LCD.

Not true, I am ok with change, but this change is not for the better.
Losing definition in favor of a blurry blended look is NOT an improvement.
At least when it comes to pixel style games.
