Learning Self-Destruct blue magic

So I might have over-leveled a bit and couldn't learn Self-Destruct from the Motor Traps on the fire ship (even time I cast any lightning-based attack on them, they died). Is there somewhere else I can learn it? I thought I could from the Prototype, but I can't get it to target my party.

You need a Beastmaster with !Control to learn Self-Destruct from Prototype.

Alternatively, you can learn it from Bombs, or the Purobolos boss fight.

I have tried Control with every creature that has this spell, and it never turns up on the Control list. I also can never get the mobs to cast it naturally.
