You couldn't have Cid swooping in with his airship to save you if you just simply teleported out of the tower, right? Or, Kain wouldn't steal the crystal from you at the entrance to the Sealed Cavern if you simply bypassed that with a Teleport spell.
But many dungeons do not have such restrictions, and Teleport takes you outside the dungeon entirely (Warp only sends you back to the previous floor transition).
It depends. Which two dungeons did you try it in?
It took you 6 hours to get to the waterway and baron castle...?
That was done for plot reasons. The trigger for Kain to betray you and steal the crystal happens to be right near the exit of the cave and if you could teleport out of there you'd skip that whole part.
I always rearranged the spell order of every new character that joins and Rydia coming back with Warp *active* was quite the interesting find. I never knew the Sealed Cave was an actual dungeon until the Advance version came out.
That's because Baron's waterway both lead to safe areas (Castle and Town), teleport takes you from a dangerous place (cave, dungeon) to the outside from where you entered
Weird flex but okay. "I regularly skipped a significant potion of the game for no good reason."
Really? You NEVER knew it was an actual dungeon? You did it on your very first playthrough and every time after that, never actually bothering to go into the cave that the plot specifically mentions needing to go into?
I'm calling BS.
