If you're unlucky like me, you'll complete most of the game only to find out in your horror that the bestiary wiped itself. This happened to me in FF3 as well, and I thought it was just a fluke since 1 and 2 didn't do it. Guess the norm is going to be playing them twice to 100%...

I am at the end of the game and figured I'd farm the summon items before beating the game so my last achievement would be beating it and filling the bestiary. So I checked the bestiary to see where cockatrice summons drop from and was horrified to see I only have, like, 12 entries in there... I think I'm gonna be sick...

The bestiary follow the GBA version pretty well until somewhere between 100-150 I think where there seems to be one less enemy in this one so numbers have a offset of 1 ( and maybe 2, I was only missing a few so I have no checked all numbers ) but the order seems the same so you can check a enemy you have to know what is next.
