What's With the Screen Tearing?
I've played all the PR releases thus far, and there seems to be a noticeable screen-tearing issue for this release when I'm walking in the castle or riding along the airships for the opening cinematic.

If you're using an NVIDIA card, try going to the NVIDIA control panel and to the 3D settings for the game and setting VSYNC to "Fast." That's what helped me

Really? I actually was going to say I didn’t see any screen tearing. Instead it’s running a little more slowly compared to the other releases.

Keep in mind you must be in a windowed mode to remove the tearing for now. Maybe double check you’re not in full screen?

this game does not run smoothly like 1-3 PR ran before ...interesting
What's even more strange is that I checked my footage I recorded just to be certain, and the screen tearing isn't there, at all. Yet I felt sick when moving around for only a couple seconds because it was that noticeable.

Check the forums for FF1-3 for tons of fixes. The TLDR is if your monitor sucks you're gonna have problems without troubleshooting.

Yeah actually, the more I play, there is like a weird stutter whenever the screen scrolls. Hard to describe
I tried the solution from the other forum post and I can confirm it has something to do with the full-screen option, so borderless window is the best solution for now.

My guess is whatever they did to fix the tearing in windowed mode has had an unintentional impact to the frame rate. Oof.

Thanks for the suggestion. There was a fix for the stuttering in the form of a hex edit for FF1-3. Gonna give it a try

the game has messed with my nvidia settings so that is why it did not run smoothly in my case...

Hrm, I'm not getting screen tearing. If you have g-sync do make sure you're playing in full screen, not windowed or borderless full screen. When I was getting screen tearing in Final Fantasy PR I switched from borderless full screen to full screen and that cleared it up, so right from the start this time I went to full screen.

just go into your video card's control panel and force on vsync for the game.. on amd go to the gaming section, click on the game and turn on the advanced sync or whatever it's called, in the lower left section. that'll get rid of it. they just need to add a vsync option to these games.

there's lot of frame skipping in the game. the game will run 60 frames, but notice when you get porom and palom and they do some type of jump turn, the sprite motion becomes extremely choppy.

i've noticed this, too and thought I was just imagining things at first. i've only played in full screen mode. i'll try some of these fixes

*edit* been playing in borderless full screen
