Nope. Not in un-modded Pixel Remaster at least. (I think on SNES it dropped from all of them with a pretty high rate, at least on the original US version I most remember playing.)
Earliest bomb that drops the bomb summon in the PR is in the tower of Babil.
Sort of. Its a change that was made a long time ago and I think all the remakes have stuck to it. It was only the original release on SNES where they were easy to find... And though they claim these games are based on the originals, it seems more like they are based on the GBA remakes minus the bonus content.
Yep it's the Dark Grenade that "counters" with Chain Reaction and blows up all the enemy party.
If you wan to save your MP just have Rydia use a Thunder Rod instead.
But I've decided that for these last two summons (bomb and cockatrice) that I'm going to just hotkey it because screw doing it any other way.
These have to have been improved since then.
If only there were some sort of documentation on these kinds of things...
