Patch 1.2.0 Broke My Game - No Launch

I've seen some discussions going around, and this was worse the day of patch 1.2.0 earlier this week. At first, I wasn't able to play any of the Pixel Remasters, but today I can launch FF1 and FF4 without an issue, but I'm in the middle of a FF3 run.


Steam will try to launch, but I don't even get a game window. Event Viewer is catching the crashes, but no description to help.

Anyone else having the same issue where FF3 PR is no longer launching?
I tired from the EXE file directly, and I get a grey window for a split second, but it still crashes.

check your anti-virus / firewall settings. make sure all games have permision to access the internet fully, and also that the game exe was not blocked in your anti-virus

several reports that this caused the game not to launch.
