What LV and job classes you have to beat FF3?
Just for fun. I was at LV47 using Knight, Ninja, Magus, and Sage.

LvL 75. Had a bard out healing the particle beam. Put the game on auto battle.

Most of my job classes were maxed out.

Turns out Even at Job 99 the onion knight is still weak , you need to also get Character lvl 99 for them to have max stats. Going to try to grind up to LvL 99 now and see how strong they are.

Surprised the bard could end up healing that well. I tried one for a while but seemed pretty weak, but I guess job level does make all the difference.

Level 56, final party was Summoner, Black Belt, Ninja and Bard. End game strategy was a mixture between healing with elixirs, healing bard song and raw physical attacks plus Bahamut summons.

My path, minor class changes/testing not mentioned:

Luneth
Warrior (47) to Knight (99) to Summoner (91)
Switching to Summoner was risky but the summoner out damages a 99 knight pretty much from the get-go as long as you have good summons. I was really happy with this one. And, in the rare case I'd run out of useful summons, I could always just go back to Knight and still be incredibly useful to the party.

Arc
Monk (73) to Black Belt (99)
Straight upgrade, useful from the beginning of the game all the way to the end. No issues with this one.

Refia
Red Mage (47) to Bard (99)
I had Refia as a White Magic focused Red Mage. It worked fine in the beginning of the game, but later on the healing just didn't cut it. Switched to Bard, and while it was weak in the beginning while switching, having access to a free heal each turn, with additional defense and attack power buffs, the Bard was really the way to go in the long run.

Ingus
Red Mage (44) to Thief (99) to Ninja (89)
This was the most interesting one to me. I had Ingus as a Black Magic focused Red Mage, but switched to Thief as soon as I got the good Thief equipment. Very happy with this one, was able to dish out A LOT of damage throughout the game.

Ah yes the path of your characters. Mine was for the most part:
Warrior to Knight
Monk to Black Belt /Dragoon for a short while/ Dark knight for a while, then finally Ninja
Black Mage / Geomancer for a while/ little bit of Archer/ then Magus
My Sage was always a dedicated healer, the pure healing classes from start to finish.

I have to say I like the Knight class all around for damage and defense at higher job levels, but my Magus and Sage held out almost the best with the high magic defense and in the back row.

Don't remember job levels, but just finished with Level 49 Knight, Ninja, Devout and Magus. I experimented some with the Knight being a Thief for a while, the Ninja (before unlocking it) had started off as Monk/Black Belt, then switched between Dragoon and Dark Knight a few times. The White/Black Mage I made into Sages after unlocking it, but was disappointed so just made them Devout/Magus.

Particle Beam was annoying, killing the Knight and Ninja frequently (Sometimes CoD went before Devout could land the Curaja for that turn and the 2 melee types couldn't survive 2 beams). Had 5 shurikens to throw at her, it took some time but ended up winning. Next playthrough I'll be trying different jobs and will level a bit more before the end.

I was 47 character level. team were Dragoon, Dark Knight, Black Belt, and Sage. All but Dragoon were at pretty low job levels, too. (Dragoon was dual wielding Blood Lances which made him basically fully heal himself every attack.)

Knight
Dragoon
Dark Knight
Devout

Around lvl 60

ps. i always loved Knight-ish classes :P

I did the boring-but-safe route: 3 Black Belts and a Sage all at level 60, all with 4000ish HP. It was about as un-challenging as it sounds.

Oo I like that, clever. Do you remember which shop you could buy Blood Lances? I only found the one from a chest or something.

I just double checked, its not the airship, but the dungeon where you get the airship from, the ancient ruins. The same shop also has blood swords available too, so you can probably do the same shenanigans with a ninja.

While wandering to it I noticed my dragoon was hitting for around 8k on most enemies and healing for about 4k, when his top health is about 3800.
