SPOILERS. But fun fact. You dont have to use "Dragoons" only on Garuda
You may need one though. That you immediately change once you beat Kraken.
The only thing, i think Square should add. Is a guy saying "Legend says, you need the power of Dragoon to win against the evil of Garuda"

Something like that. Maybe it sounds too obvious. But considering how evil that boss is. A little heads up may be good!

But essentially. If you already have picked good team. Then you can beat it without forcing your entire team to be "Dragoon" Class.

I laughed out loud when I saw that they literally put a screenshot in of 4x Dragoons vs the Garuda. That fight is such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without them unless you are insanely overleveled.

Of course...this does bring about the million dollar question...

...will checkpoints in the crystal tower finally be permitted @.@

Not if its to emulate the original game. But quicksave i guess could be a new thing they could add.

If they add Quicksave, I hope it's GBA style with 1 time load, game suspends when used. Instead of the other ones where you could keep loading.

But is Garuda really going to be much of an issue in this version? I never played much of the original and am looking forward to beating it with this, but original version bosses don't have the stupid multiturns where you could have anywhere from 1-4 Lightnings before you could heal(depending on where the boss randomly gets its turn and if it decides to spam or not), and HP growth is a lot higher in original in the case that way more than one class can get you to max HP and you're going to have more HP regardless of class.

I just played through the DS version and didn't use any dragoons for that fight. My Ranger how ever did work against Garuda since bows are also wind element.

In the original, Garuda was pretty doable, since he can't attack twice per turn and his Lightning attack wouldn't deal above 400 or so to the entire party.

On the 3D remake, though, not only they buffed the damage, but also made him attack twice per turn, and there is a very real chance of him attacking first and use Lightning TWICE, essencially killing everyone before you even get a turn.

Pretty sure they nerfed Garuda in this version - even with a team of full Dragoons, I don't remember him being down in a single round...which is what happened this time around for me. Like, seriously, jumps were doing 2k damage - which I have not seen in any version.

I'm not sure if I'm happy or upset with the change - Garuda was an absolute pain in the ass originally (I haven't played the 3D remake, but sounds like he's an even bigger pain in the ass there), but this felt...too easy.

It is because all bosses attack twice. Some end game bosses attack 3 or 4 times.

There are no checkpoints but you can save after the end credits and keep your EXP and gold. Loading the file will send you to the base of the Crystal Tower

Yeah lots of allusions to dragoon to beat garuda and one concerning a certain shadow looks like Garuda. Plus you know only open shop in town sells only spears and the tower. I did grind 5-10 job levels on two dragoons just to be safe on my run.
