What I wonder is how different it is from the NES version. They said the DS version had a glitch so the end boss had super high stats, but I remember the NES boss being brutal and losing because I didn't have 2 Sages. I'm guessing this is easier than both, hopefully it still has a challenge. I plan to rebuy it, just waiting on them to figure out that FPS/walking speed thing that drives me nuts.
They didn't dumb it down at all, this game was never hard.
Yes, they did. There are obvious changes troll.
Changes yes, but it wasn't dumbed down and the original Famicom version wasn't hard regardless of whatever changes were made moving to the DS version or the PR version.
Am i the only oen who doesn't even understand the issue?
It's just that Square always nerfs the challenge of their re-releases, and it's annoying to people who played the originals in their (better) form.
Spending an extra 5 hours on your play through grinding out random encounters isn't "challenge". I don't know how people conflate it with challenge in the slightest.
The only "nerf" is player knowledge; if you've played it before, you know how to play it better on a following run. Resources (forums, Reddit, FAQs, YouTube, etc) are more common as well. Just because you're now 30 and don't struggle with a game that you did when you were a dumb 10 year old kid doesn't mean the game was nerfed. It (thankfully) means that you're not still a dumb 10 year old kid who hasn't learned anything in 20 years.
No, they actually nerf them. Do some research dude.
Go play the originals dude. They ain't hard.
They gave the PR final boss an extra 40k health from the NES version. The reason why more people beat the final boss here is because the 3D FFIII is not a good game.
