Issues learning more magic?

For some reason i cant teach my maria some white magic spells like blink, holy, ultima. She has other magic like fire, flare, etc. Is there something Im not seeing?

A character can only learn up to 16 spells. You have to forget an existing one to learn more.

Unless you mean a spell level isn't rising. That means you're trying to grind with too-weak enemies. Find stronger monsters to level the spells on.

or just cast them on your own party member and then heal, and rinse and repeat.
