Trying to level up weapons/shield and spells faster.
Do anyone know a best foe with a high enough rank to level up my weapons and shield and spells faster?

You just need to find an enemy with lots of HP to wack on and then turn on auto battle. You also need to equip the weakest weapons in the game, so the enemies don't die so fast. Dual wielding shields is the best way to level that skill up.

Perhaps, you can have 2 characters hit the enemy with healing staffs to keep them alive longer and have 2 other characters hit the enemy with weak weapons to try and level up that skill.

The Captain enemy found in Fynn (non random encounter - just talk to the soldiers on the map) should suffice.

As mentioned above, equip weakest equipment and use the character's weaker hand for whatever you want to level up faster.

If you think you can take them, there are some high level mobs at Fynn Castle just before the locked gates if your progress slows up on the Captain.

And what enemy has lots of HP? Can you give me the names?

You don't need a high HP enemy to level up your weapons and spells faster.

If you equip your guys with the starter weapons, they will usually do 0 damage on the high rank enemies AND you will be levelling them up faster than if you are equipped with the stronger weapons, it's win-win.

If you fight the Captains in Fynn, they can eventually flee the battle, meaning you still get all the weapon/spell level gains as if you had defeated them.

What about my character's fist and shield? Firion's fist is at level 12 and the other two level 11 and their shields are also level 12. But the shield stopped leveling up as is the fist even if I'm fighting the captain. Is there a monster with higher HP for my level 12 fist and shield?

You can try the mobs that spawn in Mysidia, south of Altair.

If you have the canoe (early game) you can reach here. The only problem with these guys is they spam status magic and have it as added effect on their regular attacks.

Try going north and fighting the Chimera enemy in the Palamecia desert (forgot name of the enemy) and let it blow the burning breath. This will level up your Magic Defence and then the Mysidia enemies will struggle to hit you with their status attacks.

The fact that you have good Shield skills will help you as well.

Also Fist is not great since you don't get the Evasion boosts that weapons provide.

Generally I find swords to be the best.

I should've say never mind because my 3 characters Firion Maria and Guy all max HP 9999 and have Firion use fist on Maria and Guy with full HP and his fist skill level reached 16 as is his shield skill I should try it with Maria and Guy as well then late game with Leon too.

I did the same with spell skill with just Firion and reached 16 max that fast. figure out with same experiment works wonders. So I'm did the knife and (Forgot what word that is.) that's fast. So NinthNei thanks for the tip.

Looks like you are all set to complete the game then.

Just make sure your magic defence on your characters is not too low, or else you could be ambushed by status changing enemies right in the middle of a dungeon.

I maxed out weapon tactics very easily west of salamand. 2x longswords (as suggested by someone in another post) on my highest sword weapon level character but instead of looking for captains, look for 4x big horns and then defend with everyone else as Guy (in my case) attacks for 50-150 damage per turn. 1 full battle against 4x big horns basically got me from 15-16 in sword proficiency level.

As for magic, if you are like me and didn't use them much unless required (flans/turtles), then you can use the damage tiles (I used lava) and heal everyone individually after every step. It took me roughly 2 stacks of ether to go from lvl 9 cure to 16 and it only took a few minutes. The shop isn't too far so restocking is simple with Teleport and airship access.

Good luck.

Thanks because soon the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster will soon be on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and working for and I was told there must be a digital download indivisibly so I will have to deal with steam only for finding monster and defeat them to get their data.

That's why I'm going prepared for it.

It's monster rank plus the number of hits per battle you land on it. Monster rank can be looked up in the bestiary. IIRC it was a sand worm or something for me and I dual wielded a really weak weapon plus the sleep blade for ending strike to keep putting it to sleep. If you want to know about the formulas involved read here, it starts at the middle of the page. https://guides.gamercorner.net/ffii/walkthrough/game-systems

Except for advancing the story until you open Jade, barely. Only the monsters in the last two dungeons are strong enough to let you level anything with less effort.
