Is spear damage reduced when placed in the back row?

This is the first time I took a swung at this game. I'm giving Maria the Javelin. Can I put her in the back row and still hit hard?

That's a good question. You might try experimenting yourself. In previous versions of the game, the only weapon you could even hit with from the back row was the bow. Now, that's changed. It would be really interesting if spears had this new advantage. Honestly, I never noticed!

In looking back in hindsight it appears I was wrong. I was hitting low level hits and it made it look like I was hitting hard with a back row spear when it was just weak hits I was judging. Now that I have trained Maria's spears to 10 I can clearly see the reduction. So the answer is yes, sadly
